Day 1 – Arrival in Puerto Plata

Arrival at the airport in Puerto Plata, transfer to the hotel and check-in. Welcome drink. Rest of the day off.

Day 2 – Beach day

Day 3 – Tropical river boat tour 

After breakfast, transfer to Islabon with an English speaking tour guide. Departure from the hotel at 09:00 am. First we visit a small petting zoo, where we are going to learn lots of interesting things about the biodiversity of the Dominican Republic. Afterwards we take a 45 min. boat trip along the river Rio Sabaneta de Yasica until we reach La Boca, where the river ends in an untouched part of the sea. It is possible to swim in the river or in the sea. For lunch, traditionally prepared dishes (grilled fish or chicken) await us in a rustic tree house restaurant. In the afternoon we return by boat to the starting point and then back to the hotel. The total duration of the tour is approx. 7 hours.

Day 4 – Paradise Island

After breakfast, 2 hours drive to Punta Rucia with private driver. Departure from the hotel at 09:00 am. We will then head to the beautiful coral reef of Isla Paraíso, one of the best snorkeling opportunities in the Caribbean with a speedboat and an English speaking tour guide. Approx. 3 hours stay on the island, where fruits and various drinks are served for refreshment. Snorkel equipment is provided free of charge. At noon we return by speedboat through the mangrove forests to Punta Rucia, where a lunch buffet awaits the hungry guests. In the afternoon, time to swim and relax on the beach of Punta Rucia. Return to the hotel. The total duration of the tour is approx. 10 hours.

Day 5 – Beach day

Day 6 – Gri Gri Lagoon, Playa Caleton and Playa Grande

After breakfast, transfer with private driver to the Gri Gri Lagoon, famous for its rich birdlife and crystal clear waters. Departure from the hotel at 09:00 am. Finally we take the boat through the mangrove forests to the secluded beach of Playa Caleton, where a refreshing cooling in the sea awaits us. Continue to the picturesque beach of Playa Grande, one of the most beautiful beaches on the north coast. Various local specialities including fish and crawfish can be eaten here for lunch. Sufficient time for bathing and relaxing on the beach. Return to the hotel. The total duration of the tour is approx. 10 hours.

Day 7 – Jungle trekking

After breakfast, half day excursion to jungle trekking with an English speaking tour guide. Departure from the hotel at 08:30 am. We are going to hike through rivers, dense subtropical vegetation and off the beaten track to various waterfalls in the middle of the jungle. Below the waterfalls you will be able to swim in crystal clear blue lagoons. This trip is exhausting, wet and dirty but worthwhile. Return to the hotel. The total duration of the tour is approx. 4 hours.

Day 8 – Riding excursion ‘Mountains and River’

After breakfast, departure from the hotel at 08:40 am and transfer with private driver to the Rancho el Contento horse ranch. The riding tour starts around 09:00 am. The riding trip provides a perfect view of the outback of the north coast with its beautiful landscape. At the same time, we can participate very closely in the life of the rural population. The total duration of the tour is approx. 5-6 hours. Return to the hotel.

Day 9 – Beach day

Day 10 – Waterfalls of Damajagua and Playa Dorada

After breakfast, transfer to the 27 waterfalls of Damajagua with private driver. Departure from the hotel at 09:00 am. Arrival at the waterfalls around 10:00 am. The approx. 3-hour guided tour with an English speaking tour guide starts with a moderate hike of approx. 40 min to the top of the waterfalls, where the real fun begins. We jump, slide and swim our way back to the starting point. Jumps as high as 8 meters are possible. Don’t worry, all jumps can be avoided. At the end of this adventure we are going to enjoy a delicious Dominican lunch buffet. In the afternoon, transfer to the beach of Playa Dorada and time to relax on the beach. Return to the hotel. The total duration of the tour is approx. 9 hours.

Day 11 – Beach day

Day 12 – Jeep Safari to the outback

After breakfast, full day jeep safari with an English speaking tour guide. Departure from the hotel at 08:00 am. On today’s excursion we are going to drive with an open truck through the touristically undeveloped outback. We make short stops to taste different fruits of the season and to enjoy the wonderful view of the untouched nature. Afterwards we drive to a waterfall in the middle of the jungle, which is still an insider tip among locals. There we can swim in the lagoon and let the waterfall splash on our heads. A traditional lunch with a local family rounds off this excursion. There will be a lot of first-hand information about the country and its people. Return to the hotel. The total duration of the tour is approx. 7 hours.

Day 13 – Beach day

Day 14 – Beach day 

Day 15 – Transfer to the airport

Transfer to Puerto Plata airport and end of the trip.
